The piece you are talking about is likely a threshing machine, Hart-Carter made several different attachments for them. The thresher itself should have a name on it somewhere else like Case, Belle City, or IH etc. If you post your location someone in your area might be able to help you identify everything else you have, or you can post pictures of it to the "help identify" section of this web page.
