Firstly, I disagree re the efficiency of oil bath v paper element air filters. But, nevertheless, you should be burning that oil, and smoking, before the oil could get from the cleaner bath to the sump as it would be drawn into the combustion chamber, wouldn't it? If the element was badly blocked, to produce a high vacuum, I would also suspect black smoke to be produced. The air cleaner oil level will be dropping faster than the engine oil level is rising, so you should be confident that the oil is leaving the cleaner - normally the air cleaner level will not change very much at all. Hope this helps, but am baffled with your symptoms and not a B414 user Regards, RAB
