If your injectors are truly gummed up it's a whole lot easier to remove them than say the spark plugs on a new F-150. If there is a good diesel shop nearby they can rebuild them. Depending on production year and what pump you have could have a bearing on further diagnosing your problem. ATF in the fuel or any fuel conditioner treatment will cleanup the system but will not renew it. ATF will burn when atomized at the optimum 2500psi injection pressure.
