the problem with power inverters is they use elctricity all the time most use about 1 amp with no load. this is most likely more than the solar panel puts out, so your batteries will quickly be depleated. you need a 12 volt solution. luckily, like george said, there is a 12 volt motion sensor/light/solar panel combo. i saw it in a catalog, but i do not know what catalog it was.
