Those block heaters work great but use a lot of electricity left plugged in all the time. We don't need ours plugged in all the time so have a weatherproof thermostat mounted inline on the cord that we got from a place named farm tek I think. Have also used a timer in line on the cord which works good too. Lots of tractor dealers and tractor supply companies sell different heaters.
