A few years ago a kid on a dirt bike began riding through my neighbors(call him Dan) wheat field, was caught by Dan and questioned to where he lived, his name, his Dad's name etc. Then Dan drove his 4020 JD w/4 bottom plow over to the kids house and talked to the Dad, but Dad was indifferent about the crop damage stating his son had permission to ride anywhere he wanted. Well, Dan just backed up into the guys front yard, lowered the plow and left four quite nice furrows there; turned to the Dad and said "I'll just plant my replacement crop here'. When he began backing up to plow another pass the guy conceded, saying he would not allow the kid to ride on Dan's property again. ATV's are very very hard on the environment, causing soil displacement from rutting and spinning. Most it not all state's and the U.S. Gov. regulate or prohibit ATV's from state owned ground for this reason. The MORAL, buy your own acreage and ride when you please, the way you please. To address the hunting dog issue(dogs don't read); most states require land owners to permit dog retrieval after notifying the land owner of your situation, however you must enter and exit without stopping or harvesting game.
