They are nice tractors, just not modern. The M in particular is not safe for a new driver. There was an M&W hand clutch for the Farmall M that gave you most of the live power and live hydraulic usefulness. It was like the hand clutch on the AC WD, it decoupled the final drive from the rest of the transmission. You could stop the tractor but not shift gears. There is a Zane live thang that gives you live hydraulic on an 8N, but no live PTO. The Farmall SuperMTA, 400, and 450 were basically the same tractor but with more HP and real live power and live hydraulic.
