I recently bought a 1957 Ford 850, or at least I am told that is the year. I don't know how to tell. It was running rough and I looked in the distributor and found the rotor didn't seem to fit the distributor shaft very well, the flat spot that aligns the rotor to the shaft is not right and the rotor can turn freely back and forth about 25 degrees. Much to my surprise, a new rotor fit the same way. Perhaps it is not a 1957 model. Or perhaps a previous owner changed the distributor. Anyone know how to tell? Where is the serial number? How do I tell what year it actually is? Thanks, Paul Ward
