As Ernie said, you need to disassemble the carb. You will find a float inside. Shake it and see if there's any gas inside. If there is, it must be replaced. Otherwise, the "needle and seat" valve (attached to the float) should be replaced. Usually you can buy the needle and seat by itself or as part of a complete rebuild kit.

If possible, get someone who is familiar with carburetors to help you rebuild it. There are many small parts that can be lost or damaged if you don't know what to look for.
