We have a Kubota where I work. It is used to mow Rough's at a golf course. Seems to be a decent tractor. I'm not too sure what model. It's been around for a couple years. It gets abused. The mechanic doesn't complain too much, so it must be OK.
I have 4 John Deere's that we farm with. Wouldn't trade them for a hundred Kubota's. Maybe some of Deere's stuff is made "out of country", but at least it's an American company.
I have a "comfort level" with the Deere products. They are a full line manufacturer, as opposed to Kubota being more of a "short line". That keeps me standing at one parts counter, instead of multiple dealers.
All that aside, I can't see any GOOD reason against you buying a Kubota. I don't keep up on the prices, but I would bet that the Kubota is less.
My best arguement would be history. John Deere has outlasted all the competition. Some of the names are still the same, but everyone else has sold out, some several times. I just like Deere's PROVEN track record. Nothing Runs Like A Deere!
