Check out the Alamo (formerly Mott) site for some pictures. Flail mowers are quite a bit more expensive than rotary finish mowers and brush hogs. They have a number of advantages, however. They do a better job of picking up grass that's been flattened by the tractor's tires, and they don't leave any windrow. Since the shaft is horizontal instead of vertical, trash is not thrown to the side, a big consideration in highway mowing.
