Have patience with the little 1010... they're a much maligned little tractor, but a nice little tractor to have around. Get your timing set to spec, check the fuel filter, and drain the carburetor, if you can, to get rid of any crud sloshing around the bottom of the float bowl. Check and/or change the antifreeze, engine and rear end oil, and the air filter. Now warm the tractor up under a load, and after it has run for a while and has been worked a little, THEN you can begin to get a feel for the shape it's in. Good luck!
