I would probably start by lifting the top cover off the transmission. The pto ON A 5000 IS operated by a piggyback pump on the hydraulic pump and then it has a cutch about like the clutches in an automatic transmission just under the cover. You can at least see everything under it from that point. Don't forget to remove the bolt under the right lift arm that's kind of out of sight.
