The H has a grand and simple parking brake function. i always leave the tractor in neutral and use the parking brake. if fact i never leave any tractor in gear. my father in law on the other hand always leaves tractors in gear. sooooo, i had a simular experience to yours after he played with my h. so i always (after tht experience anyway) check the shifter now before starting any tractor.
