My experience is that regular JB weld will not stand up to exhaust temps long term. And it could give off toxic fumes so don't breathe the stuff if you try it! I bought some Hi-temp epoxy from JCWhitney. Haven't tried it yet, but it is supposed to be able to withstand the high exhaust temps.
