I bale 5x6 bales with my round baler. I generally move them with my 85 hp Ford 7700, but since I bale with that too, I was using the 150 hp tractor - that worked great, I had to have the duals off for cultivating this year anyhow, and with the big tractor & front weight box, that was joy to move bales. I picked up 2 bales with my 1720. That was iffy, and I would not want to put that nice little tractor through that stress very often. The rear end & 3pt handled it but not by much, with a short top-link I could make the relief valve go. With a Ford loader on, I could barely steer the front end was so light. I would not try to pick those bales up with a front spike, I doubt it could. I use a rear pallet-fork type bale mover, not a spike, but same difference. My understanding is that a 1710 has weaker hyd than a 1720?????? I think you would really stress that machine to try to depend on it to handle a lot of 5x6 bales - if it could do it at all. I'm not qualified to say how a 2N would do, never sat on an N. Can your neighbor make your round bales smaller, that would help a lot. Make them 5x5 or even 4x5. --->Paul

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
