Rule No. 1- for this type of operation, never call the sheriff. If pressed, he will probably tell you its illegal, and then you're stuck. If you just do it, even if caught, you can plead ignorance and be about 99% sure of getting away with it. As many of us 30+ years married guys know, its generally easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
