Go to the site I have linked. Click on "FAQs". When you get there, click on "Buying an 8N". There is a very good list of things to look for and check before buying. All 8N's had a 4 speed transmission with non-live hydraulics and non-live pto. Many thousands are still doing the job even with those limitations. The best thing to do is evaluate what you need the tractor for and then buy a tractor that meets those needs. Many people use an 8N to bushhog and get by just fine with an ORC to compensate for the lack of live pto.
