Will, I didnt have to pull the whole governor to correct the problem just took the cover off on the left side and pulled the gear and shaft out the side. Be careful not drop any of the back bearing in the crankcase which did happen to me. I ended up taking the top crankcase cover off and went fishing with a magnet.
