For the past few years, we've farmed my father-in-laws farm. He passed away 12 years ago. My wife and her brother inheirited 788 acres. Niether my wife and I, or my brother-in-law and his family live on the farm. We both have small places of our own. Or at least untill yesterday. You wouldn't know it by the Kydirtfarmer "handle", but this ol' boy is a native Hoosier. And guess what? We're going home! At 10:30PM last night, we signed the papers that make 194 acres of fine Indiana soil, MINE!!!!! We will spend the next few months getting it cleaned up, and a couple hayfields planted. A house will go up in the spring. I,m starting the first barn on monday. It is about 55 miles between MY farm, and the "family farm". We are going to plant corn and soybeans fence row to fence row there next year. All the hay operation will be at my place. We won't need to move much equipment from place to place. This is the best thing to happen to me since I met my wife. Ain't life great! From now on, I'll be Indydirtfarmer.
