Somewhere's I read an article about a fleet of Cat Challengers that racked up over 30,000 hrs on them. It seems like all but two had only routine maintaince and the others were tore down completely and they all met factory specs to go out the door! Now that was engine, tranny, and rearends. Now THAT is impressive. If I can find the article I will scan it up.
