With everything shut off and the mower not turning, lift the deck and I bet when you look under it you'll see that one of the flail knives is "stuck back on itself", meaning not freely turning on the end of the main shaft but jammed up so that the main shaft is way out of balance. If you crawl under the deck, always block it into place first.
