I'd take the JD350 over the 1010 diesel. The 1010 diesel has the infamous "sleeve-and-deck" cylinder configuration which had problems due to vibration-related sealing failure between the cylinders and water jacket, and this caused more frequent repairs and overhauls to be required. (even Deere admits this) and they are harder to find parts for. The gassers were supposedly better. just my $0.02
