I have towed with both and have always felt better when using a 3/4. The added suspension and and braking abilities are a big plus. 3/4 ton trucks are kind of hard to find, a lot of people are getting them for family use. Chevy also has a new HD 1/2 out that is supposed to be pretty good but I have not seen one up close yet. One warning if you are considering a Ford be careful of the new Powerstroke, thay are having a lot of problems with them.
