Hello. I'm having a serious problem with a clutch off a John Deere 4520 with a Syncro Range transmission. Recently one of the "straps" broke that pulls the pressure plate off the clutch, so we split the tractor (kinda big undertaking!) and pulled the clutch off. We replaced the clutch (even though it was only worn a few thousanths) and replaced all the springs and straps. We also installed a new throwout bearing that is identical to the old one in everyway. Put the clutch back on, made all the proper adjustments so that everything will work smoothly...slid the tractor back together, started it and went to move it and the gears ground. So we got to looking and discovered the bearing doesn't even touch the clutch when the pedal is depressed. So we adjusted the pedal...now the bearing travels as far as john deere made it, but its still barely touching the release fingers. I've also noticed they're out of adjustment again. What happened here, and what can I do to fix it? I really wanna get this thing out and about. Thanks for your time!
