On my old (1983) 6.2L diesel, stumbling on acceleration usually means it's time to change out the fuel filter. Mine has a Racor aftermarket unit, so the water sensor on the old GM filter is no longer in service. (No computer either!) Also had to replace the injector pump recently, as it was giving much problems starting, and keeping on running, terrible economy, etc. Hope you don't need to replace the injector pump. Not a pleasant task, and not cheap.
