The carb was soaked overnight in a cleaning solution from the local parts store. There was no fuel shut off valve on the tractor. the line from the gas tank to the carb was a metal line which we replaced with a rubber line and shut off valve until the problem can be resolved.

Do you suggest I take it off and try it again?
