The serial number is hand stamped on a flat space on the left side of the engine block just below the head. The number will start with "9N" and be followed by a set of digits (from 1 to 305000 or more). It could be a 2N as all 2N Ford serial numbers also started with "9N". Don't ask. That's the topic for another discussion. For now, go to the link for more help in finding and decoding your serial number.
