you say you are only using it for personal use so these machines which were meant for commercial use should last a long time with proper care you can get a cheap machine for 3000 to 5000 then sink 5000 into it very quickly better to get a good one and get your feet wet unless you are a diesel mechanic the shop manuals are 800 to 900 pages that should give you an idea of the complexity of the backhoe if you spend 10000 as you say and use it a few years you can likely recover all or most of your cost if machine is in good condition also you are getting free delivery and instructions on use that should be worth the extra as improper use is number one cause of breakdowns. regards rod
