Greg, Try some ceramic block sealer. The brand I have used is called Iron-Tite out of Ontario. There are two types, one used with anti freeze and one without. I had coolant leaking into my crankcase on my JD 2755. I drained all the coolant and used the one to repair the crack following the directions. After it sealed I drained the rad, replaced the coolant and put in a bottle of the other Iron-Tite. I now run it in all my tractors, excavators and my cat. It costs about $10 -$15 / bottle. There are other brands of ceramic block sealer, I know GUNK maks one. I was told that the Iron-Tite will seal a crack 1/8", but I'll believe it when I see it. I like the idea of using it with the JB-weld.
