A crack on the left side, behind the carburator, is one of the common places for that block to break when it gets cold without antifreeze. If you are lucky, there won't be any damage inside that you can't see yet.
I would clean it good with a die-grinder and seal it up with J-B Weld or similar type epoxy. I've seen blocks repaired that way last a long time without leaking.
