Hi Ed, an alternative is to fill the gear box up with regular old grease. It will not leak out nearly as fast and will lube the gears. An old farmer taught me that trick. He even told me to put grease in a brand new box in case the seal went bad. This would give you a little insurance to keep from burning the gears up. It has worked for me. I don't know if high-temp grease would work better or not. I have always just used regular, all purpose grease.
