Hey there Carl this is just and ideal if you are having cranking problems why don't you try useing a eight volt battery. I can remeber some of the old timers doing this and I don't think they change any thing. your generator puts out more than 6 volts so your battery would always have more than 6 volts in it. I know there is a down side to this and I hope we can get some replies on it. 70D
