Your '51 M could have had either Good Year, Firestone, General, or GoodRich tires on it new. The size change from 12 X 38 to 13.6X38 was in 1954, not the "60's. Like most have said, I'd put a pair of 13.6X38 6 Ply Firestone All Traction Field & Roads on it. Cost a little more but like everything else.... You get what You pay for. I have NO IDEA what Your talking about on this "D" or "E" thing. For normal farming operations You want an "R-1" tread design like the tire recommended above, as opposed to R-2 or R2-0 cane & rice tread, or R-3 or R-4. No load range on rear ag tires except the ply rating either. For more info check out Firestone's web site. Most informative and easy to navigate site for ag tires. If Your "M" would have been built 30 yrs later I'd have Bought the tires that came on it from the factory!
