PTO Slooooow Coming Down

The PTO on my '55 Ferg. TO-35 Deluxe (12V Gas) has started to hang up, dropping very slowly. This is a change because last week it was dropping too fast when I shut the engine off. No problems lifting though. Any ideas? It's an old tractor and I'm not too demanding, as long as the PTO drops in a reasonable amount of time I'm okay with leaving things alone. Don't know if this right appoach though. Any ideas? Jim Jim
