I used to while running the farmall until we got a muffler (no joke) its pretty quiet now, my ears don't ring at all from running it. The lawnmower, weedwhacker, chainsaw and such I do wear muffs for. I use muffs because I can't be bothered to dig out the plugs when I'm taking a break and my wife hates it when I have to say "WHAT?" all the time. If I know I'll be alone most of the day I'll wear the plugs.

Used to be able to get some rubber ones that were kind of bell shaped (with the top part of the bell going into your ear) those were the best and stayed the cleanest. Wish I could get some of those now.
