My opinion is to spend a few extra bucks and get a tractor with a 3-point hitch. The R is a good tractor, but 2400 is too much for a tractor without a 3 point and bad tires.. I think it wouldn't be worth more than about $1000. A Massey Ferguson 35 or 65 would be perfect for you. Or newer 135 or 165, much more money. An Allis WD would also be great. Another nice option would be a LIVE pto... You'll be glad you have it when you do mowing.
