At that time had five kids in the house (three teenagers) so when mother would back the deuce-and-a-half into the garage, hauling all that food upstairs was a real pain. The teenagers tried to be smart and always seemed to have some place to go on grocery day. I solved that by making a proclamation which stated that if you did not carry sacks you do not eat. Of course, if you face the same dilemma, this might be the time to ask for a tractor with a FEL to lift the groceries to the kitchen window.
