You can use the high pressure hose and it would probably be okay. If you have a hydraulic hose store near, they also carry steel tubing. They might be able to bend a tube to match at a lower price than the dealer. I've had to buy replace steel tube for the tougue of a JD mo-co once. It was not cheap! If you replace it with a hose, try to keep the same inner diameter as the tube. This will prevent pump starvation/pressure drop. The steel line is used because it is cheaper and can have a longer life. It also transfers heat better and has a smooth fluid path.
