2 cylinder diesel blows oil

I bought a 2 cylinder diesel tractor that just
had the motor rebuilt. The motor is blowing a
oil mist out of the exhaust pipe. The mist is
very strong and gets all over the tractor and all
over me. I was told to run the tractor very hard
for 5 to 10 hours to seat the rings and this would correct the problem. What do you think?
Should I run it hard and hope that the rings seat or should I take the tractor to a diesel
mechanic?
