Remember, everything on this is based on averages. Where is this company with 100,000 employees averaging 17.95 an hour and with how many CEO types in the management organization?? How many people with big incomes pay anywhere near the tax rate you suggest?? You have got to be one of these big monied management types or have fallen victim to their stories of how it's the "American way" and it's capitalism's way and all the other crap they argue to justify their raping of American industry and enterprise. No, there's no doubt some jobs and skills in the blue collar field are well paid, if they can get steady work, and most of the good ones can. But, it's nothing compared to the salaries higher management types demand(and usually get, along with "golden parachutes" to catch themselves in if they fail). At one time or another many of them think they're some kind of messiah for an ailing enterprise and sell themselves as such, then when they fail, it's alibi time and cash in and boogie. Put the money in the hands of the American worker, they'll use it to buy essentials of life and if there's some left over they may get a luxery or two, but it's for sure it'll be put back in the economy from whence it came and that will build a stronger economy. Letting the capital accumulate in the coffers of wealthy scions and bluebloods to hoard, squander, and parlay isn't nearly as good for the economy and it's certainly an unfair test of a republic government.
