I don't believe the 1586 has a TA, so that's one thing in his favor. I also believe it has the three-speed and high/low tranny rather than the four-speed and high/low tranny used in the smaller 86 series tractors. The 1586 was built for heavy field work, and was engineered more toward that end. I believe it also had larger final drives than the smaller models. Actually, when you get right down to it, the 4640 would be a closer competitor than the 4440. The 4440 was rated at the same horsepower as a 1086.
