My dads 444 done this for years drove me crazy tried everything ,years later I rebuilt the engine and the problem did not go away.Turned out to be a 7.00 resister hiding up under the dash that was cutting the votlage back on the coil to about 5 volts after it got hot (5to15 minites).Put a volt meter on the coil and run it for at least 30 min.I did this 3 years before but did not run it long enough to catch the problem.
