Bill and Gene said it perfectly. Don't be afraid to scare the customer off if it looks like they are going to try to nickel and dime the deal to death. If their eyes get O O when you start talking a realistic price then you may not want to have to deal with them anyway. If they want it done right they will pay to get it done right. If they want to go cheap they are not going to want to pay me to do it right anyway so they can go elsewhere. Reality is expensive sometimes - but learning the hard way can be more expensive. If they haven't figured that out on their own you will probably not be able to convince them anyway.
