Your math and logic is pecular. To the point of even being dishonest.

You calculated doing your Amsoil changes at home, while charging shop rates for standard oil. That's mixing apples and oranges. Correct the standard oil changes to reflect at home changes with a $1.50 per quart, and then look at the math.

Using your 24k mile change basis to compare, one can change standard oils every 5K and come out almost identical in cost ($57 vs $52).

That $52 is to correct your addition mistake. 5 quarts of $8 oil and two $6 filters equals $52 bucks, not $60.

Now, lets keep with the vehicles required oil changes so as to not void the warranty (presuming new car), and the cost expense of using amsoil synthetic runs you an extra $150-400 per 24k dependong on the oil change intervals.
