I have used AMSOIL in all my vehicles for over 20 years. Using my 1994 Plymouth 3.3L V-6 as an example: It was put on 5W-30 at the third (9K) conventional oil change. I used a Hastings filter which is changed every 12K and the oil is changed every 24K. Vehicle now has over 208K and going strong. I did change it to 0W-30 once it became available. Now the math. Every 24K I spend $60.00 on Amsoil and two filters. $8.00 a quart (5 + 1 at filter change)and $6.00 per filter. Eight conventional oil changes around here would cost $19.95 each including filter. 8 X 19.95 = $159.60 Now $52 is somwhat less than $159.60, plus I have only 6 quarts of used oil to dispose of. Even if you do your own changes and buy oil for $1.00 per quart and a filter for $2.00 the cost is $7.00 x 8 or $56.00. $52 is still less. So cheapest is not always the least expensive. Just my experience.
