I have an old Audi that has 312,000 miles on the original engine. When I bought the car the original owner told me he ran Mobile 1 from new. I have continued using Mobile 1 and the car used less than 1/2 Qt of oil in three thousand miles. I change the oil every three thousand just to be safe, but I have hard 4500-5000 miles is acceptable. One of the advantages of synthetic is that it doesnt break down as soon as regular oil so it can go longer between changes, but I personally dont risk it...Just my two cents.
