Jimbob: in my also limited knowledge (of late model tractors) I feel that there is a trade-off between ergonomics and simple, overbuilt durability. If you're going to spend 8-12 hours in the saddle then you NEED the features of the late model tractors. If'n you're like me and use these tractors for fun and relaxation then I opt for the good 0l' tractors. All those extra features are extra areas to breakdown and also cost more. But consider if manufactorers were to build something as heavy duty as say a JD'R' or a Farmall 'M' today no one could afford it. Like I say, IMHO, give me an old piece of iron to play with and I'm happy.
