Some tractors with 2 stage clutches have access for adjusting the clearance between the 2 stages. Some tractors do not, but have only the pedal travel adjustment. Not being familiar with all of them, I cannot provide a comprehensive list of which do and which do not. But where there is access and there is a specified clearance between the stages, perhaps the specified clearance is not the best for your particular tractor. "Big Dean", very knowledgeable about Masseys, says that the Massey spec of 0.090 between stages may be better if set at .060, 0.050, or maybe even 0.040 after the assembly has some wear. A Long dealer says that the Long spec of 0.060 really is too much and the clutch is better at 0.030. So it may be that experimenting with the clearance and trying something smaller than specified may be worth the trouble. Makes the PTO disengage with less pedal travel.
