Hi Don, I have an ARPS model 90 backhoe on a Case 311b. PTO pump is Prince HC-PTO-2A, 11.4 gpm, wt 36# hanging on the pto stub with no support for last 12 years. The pto bearings are taper roller type (single row). I don't know anything about Ford tractors so this is just my 2�. Check your bearing type, if taper roller, especially double row, you should be ok. Consider making a simple bracket to support the pump wt if in doubt.

Per Greg's post high gpm equals heat, whether you're useing it or not, as it passes through normal valve, bypass, relief restrictions.

Case 311b PTO hp 30. Ave backhoe op hp 20-25.
Arps mod 90 backhoe same spec as 8600 @ Amerequip site except max hyd psi is 1900 vice 2550.
